Overview

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme for setting up new micro enterprises. The scheme provides subsidies ranging from 15% to 35% of the project cost for setting up manufacturing and service sector units.

Eligibility Criteria

Any individual above 18 years of age

Minimum 8th pass for projects above ₹10 lakh in manufacturing

Minimum 8th pass for projects above ₹5 lakh in service sector

Self Help Groups, Charitable Trusts, and Cooperative Societies

Only new projects are eligible

Key Benefits

Subsidy up to 35% for special categories in rural areas

Subsidy up to 25% for general category in rural areas

Subsidy up to 25% for special categories in urban areas

Subsidy up to 15% for general category in urban areas

Project cost up to ₹50 lakh for manufacturing sector
